RIP Buzzer I'll never forget you and the impact you had on us all in Scotstown will never be forgotten, put simply you were the best coach we ever had. I'll never forget the letter you wrote me, it inspired me when i was at my lowest ebb. I'm honored to have called you a friend and I'll miss your witty one liners. To Noleen, Sean, Matthew and wee Amy I extend my deepest sympathy. We lost a LEGEND.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Paul,I remember him growing up in Eglish with the lads, he always had a smile on his face, and a great personality. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Noleen, and his family. May he rest in peace. He shall remain in our thoughts and in our hearts......<3

What a great fella and what a send off today at Galbally Chapel. We truly gathered to send off our love and celebrate the life and times of our fellow Gael Paul Hughes. May he rest in peace and may Noeleen and family continue to find the strength to live each day to the full as we all know that Buzzer did. Louise

Not much to add to the glowing tributes all ready posted. His popularity was plain to be seen today in Galbally. Friends came from all over to say farewell to a gentleman who made a room a little brighter when he entered. Joe C

You were running the roads 23 years ago when the Pomeroy girls first met you. And ever since you would turn up in all parts of Ireland with a crew in tow and a good nights craic guaranteed. You knew the country and the country knew you. As we all grew up and settled down you gave us a great day out and your running days were gladly replaced by wife and babies. Your ready smile and "up to no good" glint (that made me run for cover) will be missed by all. To Noeleen, Sean, Matthew and Amy please know that we are all thinking of you and praying for you. Buzzers spirit will live for a long time to come.

it’s with great sadness I ( like everyone else) have to write this message
Paul was a great friend to me although we had drifted apart in recent years
We both attended St pats Dungannon at remained friends since then. Paul travelled
With me quite allot to the USA while I was competing in Motoracing
And he actually got me to the USA for the very first time to play for St Brendans in chicago the day I left was the 12th of July 1993 and it was Paul
Who took me to the airport and a few days later he joined me in the windy city there are lots of stories I could tell, we had great criac in the states
Over the years. I informed a friend of mine( Paul knew also) in Tennessee this week
of Paul’s passing and his words were “Paul was a real comedian” and he was I think we all can agree on that. When I was told he was not well I went to see him in the Royal even though he was visibly weak and very tired he greeted me with ” young Dynes it’s great to see you” I spent an hour with him catching up on old times and of course a few laughs unfortunately that’s the last time I talked to him as he was then moved to London a few days later, I thought he was going to make it but unfortunately it was not meant to be. To Noleen, Sean, Matthew and Amy, his mother and Ambrose
And the kelly family We offer of sincere condolences it’s not right for this to happen,
God bless and watch over you all..
