Eglish v Dromore 12-05-2013 Match Report

The Seniors were beaten by Dromore on Sunday on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-7. In what was a physical first half, Eglish went in at half-time leading by two points 0-5 to 0-3. Dromore started the more brighter and lead courtesy of two points from Paddy Montague from frees after 6 minutes. Gregory Jordan however levelled the game with two big scores from play. Further scores from Mickey Jordan and two from Peter McCann, one from a free meant Eglish were two points up at half time. Just before half-time Dromores Ryan McMenamin was dismissed for a second yellow card offence.

The numerical advantage however didn’t last long, within a minute of the restart Johnny Jordan received his second yellow card, which appeared to be rather harsh. Eglish extended the lead to three points (0-6 to 0-3) with the first score of the second-half, a Peter McCann free. Dromore started to get a grip around midfield and started to dominate the game hitting six points in a twenty minute period to leave the score 0-6 to 0-9 with points from Paddy Montague, Colm McCullagh and Niall Sludden. A  Peter McCann free on 26 minutes was Eglishs final score as Dromore tagged on a further three points for a five point victory
