Club Notes 02/05/2011

Adult Football
Our Senior team secured their second win from three games in the league when they defeated Killyclogher at home last Sunday. In a hard faught game Eglish finished with four points to spare. Final Score: Eglish 2-07, Killyclogher 1-06.

The Reserve team picked up their first points of the league campaign when they beat Killyclogher in the first game on Sunday. Final Score: Eglish 5-09, Killyclogher 2-07.

The next four league games are as follows: Sunday 8th May away v Cookstown (Reserve 2.15pm, Seniors 3.45pm), Sunday 15th May away v Dromore, Sunday 22nd May away v Derrylaughan, Saturday 28th May home v Clonoe.

Minor Football
Our Minors had another good win when they travelled to Ardboe last week and came away with another two league points. Final Score; Ardboe 2-09, Eglish 3-11.

The Grade 1 Minor Championship begins this week with Eglish travelling to Cookstown this Wednesday evening, 4th May, to play Cookstown at 7.15pm.

The re-scheduled league fixture away to Pomeroy is now to be played this Friday evening, 6th May, at 7.15pm.

Under 16 Football
Fixtures for the Under 16 League have been announced with Eglish to play Clonoe at home in the first game on Thursday 23rd June.

Under 14 Football
Our Under 14’s play in the Grade 1 Championship in Dromore this Tuesday evening, 3rd May, against Dromore at 7.00pm.

Under 8 Go Games Blitz
The first Go-Games Under 8 Blitz gets under way this Saturday, 7th May, at 10.00am sharp at Derrytresk.

Training for U6, U8 and U10 Squads
Training will continue on Thursday evening, 5th May, starting at 6.00pm and will finish at 7.00pm. Parents are reminded that all players must be registered in order to take part. Registration forms will be made available before training.

The U10 management would like to thank all parents for coming out to support the team in the recent Moy Blitz.

Club Lotto
Winning Lotto numbers for Monday 18th April were 6, 9, 17 and 23. There were three Match 3 winners: Deirdre Hamill, Kieran Daly and Steven Daly. There was no Lotto on Easter Monday, 25th April. Lotto Jackpot for Monday 2nd May is £2,550.

Summer Camp Coaches
Anyone interested in coaching at the 2011 Tyrone Summer Camps can contact Anne Daly on 028 8224 9060 or anne.daly.gda.tyrone@gaa.ie to register. All coaches wishing to coach at the 2011 camps must be vetted through Tyrone County Board, must have completed the Foundation Coaching Award and Child Protection Course, and must have completed the Access NI Vetting procedure. The deadline to complete the vetting procedure is mid May, so get the ball rolling today to ensure you don’t miss out on what could possibly be seven weeks work over the Summer.

Hurling Cluster Groups
The Tyrone County Board is promoting hurling by clustering local clubs. Anyone interested should contact Anne Daly on 028 8224 9060 or anne.daly.gda.tyrone@gaa.ie.

Sympathy
The club extends its deepest sympathy to the Rafferty family (Galbally) on their recent bereavement.

EGLISH ST. PATRICK’S CAMOGIE CLUB NOTES

Senior Results & Fixtures
The Senior team had a great victory last Friday evening when they defeated Swatragh in the Derry League. The match was played in Eglish with the St Patrick’s girls winning on a score line of 3-8 to 1-8. This week the girls play Rossa in the Ulster League on Wednesday 4th May at 7.00pm in Eglish. Forthcoming fixtures Ulster league Wednesday 11th May Leitrim V Eglish, Derry League Eoghan Rua V Eglish on Friday 13th May.

Colleges All Star
Congratulations to Aisling Jordan who had the honour of being selected for the Interprovincial College All star Tournament in Dublin recently. Aisling was part of the St Patrick’s Academy team and had been awarded a Colleges All Star last month.

Underage Results & Fixtures
There will be no underage training this Saturday 7th May due to Holy Communion taking place, it will recommence the following Saturday 14th May from 10-11am. The first of the Go Game blitz for U10, U8 and U6 will be hosted by Eglish on Saturday 21st May.

The Post Primary team play Eire Og on Monday 9th May, and were defeated by Dungannon last week in the league.

Under 18 League Eglish V Dungannon to be refixed.

County News
Tyrone Camogie in association with PAP Promotions Ltd are hosting STARS IN THEIR EYES in Quinn’s Corner on Friday 27th May at 8.30pm, cost £10.00. Tickets are on Sale for this Fundraiser and can be purchased from any committee member. Local lads Peter McCann and Stephen Daly will be representing Eglish, all support welcome.

Local News
Congratulations to Donal McAnallen and Pauline Conway who were married in Pomeroy last weekend and also to Clare McCann and Michael Knight who also got married over the Easter Holidays.

Sympathy
The club extends sympathy to Celine McNulty and family on the recent death of Anna Rafferty (RIP).
