Club Notes 18/04/2011

Adult Football
Our Reserve and Senior teams had their first competitive games of the season when they made the short journey to Donaghmore. The opening game saw our Reserves put up a good display but were eventually beaten. Final score Donaghmore 1-12 Eglish 1-08. In the second game our Seniors put up a solid performance and came through winners. Final score Donaghmore 1-11 Eglish 2-13.

This Saturday, 23rd April, our Reserve and Senior teams are at home to Carrickmore. Reserves 4.00pm and Seniors 5.30pm. This will be followed by another home game against Killyclogher on Sunday 1st May and an away game to Cookstown on Sunday 8th May.

Minor Football
Our Minors continued their good form with another win, this time away to Cookstown. Final score Cookstown 1-07 Eglish 4-11. The next Minor league game is at home to Naomh Mhuire this Wednesday evening, 20th April, at 7.15pm, followed by an away game to Pomeroy on Sunday evening, 24th April, at 7.00pm.

Under 14 Football
Our Under 14’s played in the Tyrone Grade 1 Feile last weekend. The lads performed well and had a win against Pomeroy but were defeated by Galbally.

The next Under 14 league game is at home to Errigal Ciaran on Tuesday evening, 19th April, at 7.15pm, followed by another league game away to Cappagh (Killyclogher) this Saturday, 23rd April, at 5.00pm.

Under 12 Football
Training for Under 12 players begins on Monday 18th April, starting at 6.00pm sharp. All parents and players should note there will be an Under 12 Blitz in Eskra on Saturday 30th April.

Under 10 Go Games Blitz
The first Go-Games Under 10 Blitz gets under way this Saturday, 23rd April, at 10.00am sharp at Greencastle.

Under 6, Under 8, Under 10 Tournaments
Training will continue this Thursday, 21st April, for all Under 6, Under 8 and Under 10 teams starting at 6.00pm sharp and will finish at 7.00pm. After the success of our first training session of the 2011 season the management team would like to thank all parents who stayed to assist the coaches with training, your support is greatly appreciated. Can all parents be reminded that due to safety concerns they must collect their child from the grass at the field and not in the car park. All children must be registered with the club before they can start training for the new season. Registration forms will be available before training on Thursday evening so it is advised to arrive five minutes early to complete this form before training begins. Can parents of the Under 10 squad keep an eye out for details of the first Under 10 Blitz…details will be texted when they are known.

Recreational Football
The first round of games for Recreational Football (over 30’s) will take place on Friday 29th April. Details of venue and time are to be confirmed.

Primary School Football
Congratulations to Cormac Byrne from Roan St. Patrick’s who achieved 1st place in the Tyrone Primary Schools Boys Football Skills Day. Cormac beat off competition from all other Primary Schools in Tyrone and will now play in the half-time game in The All-Ireland Football final in Croke Park.

Annual Fashion Show
Thanks to all those who helped, participated and contributed to the Fashion Show held last Friday night in the Sports Hall.

Ladies Circuit Training
Circuit training for ladies continues on Monday evenings at 7.00pm in the Sports Hall. Everyone welcome.

Club Lotto
Winning Lotto numbers for Monday 4th April were 4, 7, 10 and 16. There were six Match 3 winners: Dermot Muldoon, Lisa Gildernew, Celine Hunter, Cara Donnelly, Marie Barrett, Cailin Murtagh. Lotto Jackpot for Monday 18th April is £2,500.

Summer Camp Coaches
Anyone interested in coaching at the 2011 Tyrone Summer Camps can email Anne Daly at anne.daly.gda.tyrone@gaa.ie to register. All coaches wishing to coach at the 2011 camps must be vetted through Tyrone County Board, must have completed the Foundation Coaching Award and Child Protection Course, and must have completed the Access NI Vetting procedure. The deadline to complete the vetting procedure is mid May, so get the ball rolling today to ensure you don’t miss out on what could possibly be seven weeks work over the Summer.

Hurling Cluster Groups
The Tyrone County Board is promoting hurling by clustering local clubs. Anyone interested should contact Anne Daly on 028 8224 9060 or anne.daly.gda.tyrone@gaa.ie.

Scor
Congratulations to both Killyclogher Ballad Group and Dromore Instrumental Group who lifted All Ireland titles in their categories in Scór Sinsear at the finals held recently in the INEC centre in Killarney.

Local News
Congratulations to Cathal McKenna on his recent engagement to Danielle Dunlop.

Sympathy
The club extends its deepest sympathy to the Brown family (Skerries, Dublin) on their recent bereavement.

EGLISH ST. PATRICK’S CAMOGIE CLUB NOTES

Senior Results & Fixtures
The Senior team had a great match and win against Ballinascreen last Wednesday evening at Ballinascreen in the Ulster League 4-06 to 3-05. Their next game in the Ulster League is at home to Clonduff (Co. Down) at 7.00pm on Wednesday evening, 20th April.

The Senior girls get their Derry League campaign under way on Friday 29th April when they play Swatragh.

Underage Results & Fixtures
Well done to the Under 14 team who defeated Derrytresk in the league last week.

Training continues for underage teams on Saturday morning from 10-11, and post primary and U14 from 11-12. All registration and membership can be returned at this time.

County News
The Tyrone County Board is hosting a “Stars in your Eyes” on 27th May in Crannon Inn with host on the night being UTV’s Frank Mitchell. Local lads Steven Daly and Peter McCann are representing Eglish St Patrick’s. Tickets are available for this event from any committee member with a great night’s entertainment in store, dancing to a live band.

Club Membership
Any outstanding Membership for the new season should be paid, senior/minor players £25, non playing members/students/over 16 £15, under 16 £10, all membership should have been paid by 31st March 2011.

Fashion Show
Well done to all involved in the fashion show held last Friday, in the Sports Hall. The latest Fashion from The Edge, Cuba and Ring-O-Rosies kids were superbly modelled by locals on the catwalk.
