Football Notes 11 April

Adult Football

Senior League action commences on Tuesday evening, when we host Omagh in the first game of the League. Throw in is at 8.00pm in Pairc Chormaic. There will only be a Senior game played, the Reserve game will be scheduled to be played at a later date. The second game in the League is on Sunday when we travel to Trillick, Senior game is at 3.45pm and this is preceded by the Reserve game at 2.15pm.

Youth Football

Friday evening saw the Minors play their final League game, hosting Stewartstown in Fr Connolly Park. Unfortunately they were on the wrong side of the three point margin, final score Eglish 3-07 Stewartstown 3-10.

The under 14 game was final played last week, at the third attempt, but unfortunately the luck did not come to Eglish as we came second to a very strong Dungannon team. Final Score Eglish 3-05 Dungannon 4-12. Next up for the Under 14 is the rearranged Feile Peil na nOg, details to follow.

Under 6, 8 & 10 Football continues on Thursday 6th at 6pm in Fr Connolly Park.

As part of the development of Hurling in the County, Caman Tir Eoghain Coaching sessions for primary school children will commence on Monday 18 April, at 6.00pm in the all-weather MUGA in Benburb. This is a six week programme, there is an initial one of fee of £10 and each child receives and Hurley and Sliotar.

Other

Saturday evening past all roads lead to Monaghan for a night of celebration to mark the clubs Diamond Jubilee. Special recognition was given to the All County League Division 1 winning team of 1976. Congratulations to all the award winners. Amongst the highlights of the night was the rendition by the bard of Cullenramor.

Orders are now being taken for tickets for the National Football League Finals, The Division 2 Final is been held on Sunday 24th April as the curtain raiser to the Division 1 Final.
